A well-known scene from the Nazi propaganda film Triumph of the Will:

At the 1934 Nazi Party Congress at Nuremberg, members of the Reich Labor Service (Reichsarbeitsdienst) call out the their region or city of origin in order to reinforce the themes of power through unity and pan-Germanism present throughout the film. Hitler himself was born in Austria, not Germany, but under the Nazi ideology, he and undoubtedly many of these men (including the worker from Pomerania), though not born within Germany’s borders, were still Volksdeutsche, a term of Hitler’s own creation that was used to justify both Lebensraum and genocide.
